"Giving new life to old wood"

For those of you who follow "The Sports Guy" on ESPN's Page2 you will be pleased know that they have finally given good ol' Bill his own page on the website. This is a terrific move on ESPN's part. There have been very few sports/gambling/life commetaries on the web that have touched my life as much as this little web gem on Page2. I can't wait to read the reviews, the commentary and the crazy antics I am sure he has The Intern lined up to do. So be sure to check it out daily.

Well, it's out. The title to the next Harry Potter book has just been confirmed. I am pretty excited about it. I think once I finish my current book and the one on deck I will have to go back and re-read Goblet of Fire and Order of Phoenix to get back up to speed.

England lost yesterday. So pissed. Sad too. Horrible call in the 91st minute. England should've won. At least it was a hard fought battle in the overtime periods. Beckham sucks. For real. I wasn't a fan before, and definately like him less now. How do you miss a PK? And two in the same tourney??? Is this guy a professional? Doesn't he have a movie named after him? I think he's just bent.

Also, to add insult to injury, my favorite player on my favorite team is leaving said favorite team. I am so torn. I don't mind the team he is moving to (3rd favorite) but it still hurts. Why Stevie, why?

There will be tears in my pint tonight.

Watched the England-Switzerland Euro 2004 game yesterday during lunch. All I can say is how relieved am I. After that stoppage time debacle against France last Sunday a win was crucial for my boys. Not only that but my Merseyside lads were the ones gobbling up all the points yesterday. Go Reds!!!

I'm off work tomorrow. Playing golf at this great course west of town. There are 17 of us playing. I am sort of excited and afraid at the same time that once all 5 groups have tee'd off that it might become a seething mass of golfers by the 3rd hole. Can you imagine the sight? A nine-some and an eight-some on the tee and green of the same hole respectively? No doubtedly a melee would erupt when trying to determine "who is away". We shall see though. It definately beats the office on a Friday.

Saturday I have been extended a most gracious invitation to play at one of the best courses in the city. East Lake Golf Club. This course has such a rich history and wonderful layout. Not to mention that it is a private club and I would really have no other opportunity to play it regularly. I can't wait. I think i might hit the range this evening to get ready for my golf weekend.

I love IMDB. I can seriously think of no other site on the web where if I am bored I could spend hours sifting through. From the memorable quotes to the actor's biography's to the movie trivia and goofs. There really is countless trivia fodder on that site. I have recently memorized every best picture from 2003 back to 1965. It is a step by step process to insert more useless knowledge in my brain so I will have to get the pre-1965 winners at a late date. I have even started playing a little six degrees of seperation game. I'll pick two random actors and see if I can link them myself based on movies I know or have seen. I have found Christopher Lee to be most helpful in this one. Anyway, if you are ever bored, even if it for a few minutes at work, think of your favorite movie, head to IMDB and re-read the memorable quotes out loud to yourself. You'll be lost in the movie all over again.

So the Davinci Code is really good. I am half way done. Well, i haven't read it since Thursday but i was able to get through half of it in that one night. That's how good it is.

So I get to see Prisoner of Azkaban tonight! I am a huge closet Harry Potter fan. I have been re-reading this third chapter in Harry's life during lunch breaks last week at work. Nearly done. Tremendously excited to see how the book is captured on the big screen. This one is probably one of my favorite of the 5 books. Goblet of Fire coming in at a close second.

Pretty relaxing weekend. Saw my Yellow Jackets beat up some automatic berth team 16-3 in Friday's regional baseball tournament. Tech faces our statehood rival UGA this week for a chance at the college world series. Now I am not a big baseball fan ( I like watching sports, not games. Baseball to me does not qualify as a sport, but that is an argument for another time) but any chance my alma mater gets a chance to beat up on the Dawgs I love it. We did in fact place higher than them in the Golf National championship this past week as well, so that was nice.

Again, with being behind the times...but I just started Davinci Code this past weekend. Only 17 chapters in but it is definately turning into a page turner. I should have plenty of time this weekend to hopefully finish it off (my lovely distraction is out of town) which should leave me enough time to reread Prisoner of Azkhaban before it hits theaters next weekend. Rarely before have I ever been excited about a PG movie coming out.

Sinus cold status: Still have it. Two weeks counting. Have gone through roughly 1300 tissues, 2 rolls of Cottonelle (the best TP on Earth btw), numerous bathroom c-fold papertowels, dozens of cocktail napkins and a crumpled up piece of notebook paper(ouch). I wish they could use Botox to stop my runny nose like they do for sweating.
