Obviously this man was about as thrilled as I was with Becks during the Euro 2004 debacle.

Yesterday, apparently, there was a huge blowdryer overtop of the city of Atlanta. I don't know how to explain it. Now, we all know what hot weather feels like. It could only be 90 degrees outside and it feels like you are melting. I know to some of you that might be hot. but trust me it isn't as hot as it coudl be here. it is one thing when the temp is 88 deg but then there is 70% humidity. Ok, so that then gives you a heat index. Take the temperature, then add the number associated with the humidity and that gives you the heat index temp. What the air feels like to your body. So according to my calculation it was 158 degrees yesterday. Now i am no meteorologist so i'm not sure if you can really trust my math on that but trust me it was freaking hot. And the "breeze" was blowing hot air. Seriously, it was the weirdest thing. You know when you get out of the shower in the summer and there is no A/C and you can't dry off enough actually put on deodorant and have it stick to your person? Yeah, that was yesterday. Today, the breeze is actually at least 10 deg cooler than the ambient temp so that is nice. Sorry for the rambling rant. I hate the summer. Especially in Atlanta. Did i mention i hate summer?

Playing golf on Saturday. At 7:45am. Yes, that sounds early but trust me if we were to try and tee off a few hours later we would be dousing ourselves in water and rosin just to try and hold on to the club in the extreme heat. I figure this way we can at least be on the back nine before our shirts have been hermetically sealed to our backs. They need to make linen boxers. For real. I need something that breathes.

Some guys have all the luck. I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who just ran into an Idol of mine who was at a favorite store of mine all of which were without "mine" aka me. This is the second time my friend Andy has seen said Idol. First, passing him in his car on the road and now in the flesh in the Whole Foods just down the road from me. My Whole Foods. The one I was in not but 3 days ago. Alas, the VIP AB seems reserved for AD and not ME.

I don't think I want to be this healthy...

Ok, so I was reading the Sports Guy today and had a total blast from the past moment. While reading his commentary on the movie Dodgeball I had a revalation about one of the actors in the film, Christine Taylor. Now we all know her as Ben Stiller's wife and Marcia from the Brady Bunch. But as soon as I pictured her face in my head all of a sudden another charater she played popped in my head. (Reminder: there is a lot of useless and random knowledge in my head. Things come an go as they please. Not sure what triggers their release but it just happens. And on occasion I swear to have been able to "think hard enough" to actually get a trivia answer correct in crunch time). So, does anyone remember her character, Melody, on Hey Dude!? Does anyone remember Hey Dude!? Total blast from the past. The show lasted about 2 years on Nickelodeon. I think only because i had younger siblings did I continue to watch Nickelodeon on occasion in 8th and 9th grade after school. This show was classic though. I totally thought Brad was hot back then. (Brad is a girl if you haven't taken the time to click on the above links.) Crazy huh? Sort of got me thinking whatever happened to those kids and kids on other shows I used to watch as a kid. Do they even have shows like this nowadays for kids after school and in the evenings? I guess I am just stuck in the timewarp of time between my youth and when I have kids of my own to find out for sure.

Well, mother nature was most forgiving on this past holiday weekend. She decided to take a break from the typical weekly deluge and offer out some sun and fun. Played golf, went to to baseball games, cooked out twice, spent 3 hours in the airport, and watched 6 episodes of Good Eats. All and all a most relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Hopefully this shortened week will fly by so I can do it all over again.

FYI, this doesn't bode well for my companion status lasting much longer. Better get my flying time in while I can.

Day 16 - Rain again today. I swear we are setting records this early summer. More than 2 weeks in a row with a shower/storm or some sort. I know I have always hated Atlanta weather because of it's lack of seasons but I didn't know we added one...monsoon season. It is really putting a damper on my golf game. (Ha, very punny)

I am in a bowling league on Wednesday nights. Now, i know you are thinking beer guts and tootless, smoking, leathery faced Lebowski's but this league is different. It is all young folks (except for Big Boi from Outkast and his bandmates/dancers,A-town and Hollywood) (Speaking of, I wish I had a cool name like that....well, i guess Captain is cool enough, but how do you get nicknamed a city? Must have done something crazy.) But back to the league. We have been in this league for 4 12 week sessions now. Our best finish was a runner-up finish our second session against the biggest sandbaggers in the league. But this session we seem to be floundering near the middle of the pack. We can probably attibute that to the fact the we haven't had a consistant starting 5 each week. Anyway, last week I stroked all three games for a 197 average (203,182,206). This week I was a modicum of consistancy with a 116 average (117,117,114). What gives? Can one person really swing that much from week to week? The league is sure to think we are cheating and bringing in ringers some weeks. "No, sir, i really just am that inconsistant." Crazy.
